* Water Quench, rest Oil Quench
lower range of temperatures should
be selected for thinner sections and higher range for thicker
sections. 10 to 20 C more temperature is advisable as correction
factor as well as to take care of drop due to time lapse when
quenching. Components should be progressively and uniformly
heated to the temperaturees and hold at maximum temperature
depending on cross section. (ideal ratio is 60 minfor 25 mm).
Quenching should be done immediately
without any loss of time and minimum exposure to atmosphere,
quenching media should be at room temperature, it should have
an agitator and water circulation to keep temperatures as
low as possible; tempering should be done immediately after
for uniform results different coils should be heat treated
seperately.
In parts where it is difficult
to check hardness due to forming it is advisable to process
strip of 1" x 1" alongwith components so that hardness
can be checked properly.
Thickness Tolerance
All strips supplied by us are
processed from coils in width range of 250-350 mm and comes
with in following thickness tolerance.
